Our Story

About CaribooVista

A small Vancouver team that built the holographic social entertainment platform they always wanted to play.

Origin Story

Built in a Vancouver Loft, Launched in Orbit

CaribooVista Entertainment was founded in 2024 by a trio of game designers who shared one conviction: free-play entertainment deserves the same craft and attention as any premium commercial title. The platform takes its name from the Cariboo region of British Columbia — rugged, expansive, full of discovery — transposed into a science-fiction setting that feels genuinely new.

Our founding team had worked across mobile and desktop games for almost a decade. We noticed that free-play social platforms tended to feel throwaway — stretched ad-supported templates with thin mechanics. We decided to do the opposite: start from a single mechanic (the Shifting Wild cascade), design backward from that, and build everything to a finish.

The Nexus Concept

The CaribooVista Nexus — our flagship social game — is set aboard Orbital Station Gamma-9 in the year 2157. The visual language draws from vivid animation traditions: bold outlines, saturated gradients, expressive cartoon characters. The Nexus is not trying to simulate a real entertainment platform. It is trying to be something else entirely: a holographic entertainment system that happens to use column mechanics as its core rhythm.

Every element you see — the Chrome Robot DJ, the Alien Hacker, the Glitch Star WILD — was sketched and iterated by hand before being converted to the premium SVG format you see in the game. We did not want a library of stock gambling icons. We wanted characters.

Why Free-Play, Why Always Free

This is a question we get often, and the answer is philosophical as much as practical. We believe that the enjoyment in a well-designed column game comes from the mechanics, the anticipation, and the audio-visual feedback — not from financial risk. Attaching real money to that loop changes the psychology in ways we find uncomfortable. CaribooVista will always be free because we believe the entertainment should stand on its own.

We are also committed to responsible design in a very concrete sense. Our age gate, our session timers, our on-screen disclaimers, and our integration with organisations like the Responsible Gambling Council of Canada are not afterthoughts bolted onto the end. They are designed into the product from the first wireframe.

Where We Are Based

CaribooVista Entertainment operates out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Our registered address is 1285 Granville Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1M4. We are subject to Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and provincial guidelines. We do not hold any real-money gaming licence because we do not offer real-money gaming.

“We built the game we wanted to play, and then we made it free so everyone could.”

Three Things We Believe

What We Don’t Do

We do not collect real money, offer prizes, simulate misleading return-to-player figures, or use deceptive dark patterns like fake countdown timers or false scarcity messages.

What We Do

We design tight, satisfying mechanics, render premium holographic visuals, implement full responsible-play infrastructure, and release everything at no cost to the player.

How We Measure Success

By player satisfaction and platform reputation, not by retention manipulation. We want people to return because the game is good, not because we trapped them.
