Responsible Play

Safe Play on CaribooVista

CaribooVista involves no real money. But even free social entertainment deserves a responsible framework. This page is here for you.

What is a Social Game?

CaribooVista is a free-to-play social-entertainment platform. Everything on this site is simulated for entertainment purposes only. There is no real money, no playing, no prizes, and no financial outcomes of any kind. When the Nexus pays out virtual credits, those credits are entertainment tokens and nothing more. They cannot be used for any purpose outside the CaribooVista platform and have zero cash equivalent.

The visual format of the Nexus game resembles real-money gaming software because column mechanics are an established entertainment idiom, in the same way that a racing video game resembles driving without carrying any real risks. CaribooVista uses this idiom for entertainment, not for financial gain or loss.

Adults Only — 18+

CaribooVista is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. This is not a marketing formality. Column-format entertainment, even when free, uses anticipation loops that are not suitable for children. We ask that all adults who have access to this platform ensure that minors in their household cannot access it, using browser-level parental controls, separate user profiles, or content-filtering software.

It Is Supposed to Be Relaxing

The Nexus was designed as a low-pressure, visually engaging experience. If you find yourself feeling stressed, anxious, or frustrated while using it, that is a signal to step away. A healthy session feels light, enjoyable, and optional. CaribooVista should be one of many things you do for entertainment, not the central one.

Walk Away When It Stops Being Fun

The single most reliable protective behaviour is also the simplest: close the browser when you have had enough. There is no account to log out of, no streaks to protect, no daily limit you need to meet. CaribooVista does not send push notifications, does not email you about "missed sessions," and does not use loyalty points to bind you to the platform. You are free to walk away at any moment, and we encourage you to do so whenever you feel like it.

We have also built a 30-minute session nudge directly into the platform. If you have been on an active session for 30 minutes, a gentle prompt suggests taking a break. It is dismissible, not a hard stop, because we believe in your autonomy. But it is there because we think it is the right design choice.

Warning Signs to Look Out For

  • Spending more time on social games than you planned or intended.
  • Returning to the platform to try to recapture a feeling of excitement after a neutral or boring session.
  • Feeling restless or irritable when you are not playing.
  • Lying to people close to you about how much time you spend on the platform.
  • Neglecting work, study, relationships, or physical needs in favour of playing.
  • Using the platform to escape problems, stress, or negative emotions rather than address them.
  • Searching for or trying other gaming platforms in the same compulsive pattern.

If any of these sound familiar, please consider reaching out to one of the organisations below. They are there for people who are affected by any kind of compulsive play behaviour, including free social games.

A Short Self-Check

Ask yourself honestly:

  1. Am I playing this game because it is fun, or because I feel I have to?
  2. Have I missed anything important today because I was on the platform?
  3. If someone I respect asked me right now how much I had been playing, would I feel uncomfortable telling the truth?
  4. Do I feel anxious or restless when I try to stop?
  5. Am I using the game to avoid thinking about something difficult in my life?

One or two honest "yes" answers does not make you an addict. But they are invitations to pay attention and, if the pattern continues, to reach out for support.

What to Do If Something Feels Off

Close the platform for at least 24 hours. Tell someone you trust about what you have been experiencing. Visit one of the resource organisations below — most have online chat, phone, and email support available at no cost. If you want, email us at [email protected]; we are not therapists, but we can point you to the right place.

If Someone Close to You Needs Help

Supporting someone with a compulsive play pattern can be draining. Remember that you did not cause the behaviour and you cannot cure it on your own. Gamblers Anonymous has resources specifically for family members and friends (Gam-Anon). Gambling Therapy also offers support for people affected by someone else's relationship with gaming of any kind.

How We Keep This Game Safe by Design

Every CaribooVista feature goes through a responsible-design review before it ships. The platform does not display return-to-player percentages, does not celebrate near-misses as wins, does not allow credits to be purchased, and does not use artificial scarcity or countdown timers. The age gate runs on every page. The topbar on every page is a permanent reminder that this is a free social platform with no real-money involvement. The session nudge is built in. The links to support organisations appear on every page's footer.
